The Advertising Research Foundation Announces Finalists for 2011 Great Mind Awards

Award Honors Exemplary Individuals Who Have Contributed to the Quality and Advancement of Advertising Research

New York (March 15, 2011) – The Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) today announced the finalists for the ARF Great Mind Awards 2011, a prestigious industry accolade which honors individuals who have contributed to the excellence and advancement of advertising research.

“Since 2006, the Great Mind Awards have recognized leaders in the advertising community who have shown the power behind meaningful use of research in their work,” said Bob Barocci, president and CEO, the Advertising Research Foundation. “These finalists support the mission of the ARF by actively engaging in the scientific exploration of the consumer mindset, using this knowledge within their respective organizations to create and drive highly effective marketing programs, and also driving the advancement of future advertising research.”

Twenty-four finalists are in the running across six award categories.

The ARF Great Mind Awards 2011 winners will be announced at the Luncheon, sponsored by GfK, on March 23 at the New York Marriot Marquis. The Luncheon will conclude ARF’s largest-ever Annual Convention, Re:think 2011 – Managing the Complexity Maze: Insights as the Navigator, which continues the organization’s yearlong 75th Anniversary celebration. Awards will be presented by David Krajicek, co-president, GfK Custom Research North America.

In addition, a Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to a notable individual who has made significant contributions to the advertising research industry and to the ARF throughout their lifetime.

The ARF hosts Re:think 2011 on March 20 – 23 at the New York Marriott Marquis. The four-day event is designed to give marketers tools and insights to make the best possible decisions in today’s fast-changing environment and will be headlined by top business leaders, including Dr. Robert Groves, director, U.S. Census Bureau; Reuben Mark, retired chairman and CEO, Colgate-Palmolive Company; and Chuck Porter, chairman, Crispin Porter + Bogusky. The convention will also feature 30 forums dedicated to key, important issues in the advertising community as well as groundbreaking research results that will significantly impact the marketing landscape and the ability to engage and motivate consumers.
