Joel Rubinson Joins ARF as Chief Research Officer
Rubinson comes to The ARF from Synovate North America, where he was the company’s most senior branding and communications resource as Senior Vice President/Head of Advanced Solutions. He also led their global initiative on retail and shopper insights methodologies. Prior to joining Synovate, he was at Vivaldi Partners, a leading marketing and branding consultancy.
His distinguished career before that further encompassed 25 years at the NPD Group, where his many accomplishments included leading their trial and repeat forecasting business, building the “Brandbuilder” brand equity model, serving as the research architect of moving NPD’s tracking businesses online, and creating their “Research Excellence” internal training program, as well as leading the development of NPD’s category management reporting tools.
In addition, Rubinson is a highly-acclaimed industry contributor, having written 12 papers on brand loyalty, brand equity, and communication effectiveness, and has been a frequent speaker on topics ranging across brand equity, shopper insights and new product forecasting.
In the academic world, he has taught the official American Marketing Association advanced tutorial on brand loyalty and lectured at Columbia, NYU, Wharton, Amos Tuck School and University of Rochester, among others. He holds an MBA in statistics and economics from the University of Chicago, and a BS from NYU.
